Thank you for signing up with Shawnee Communications!

Swipe through these 7 steps to find out what’s next

Here's what to expect after signing up for service

Step 1 - Your Account is Created

A customer service representative will create an account for you in our database. If fees were required for your new account, those fees will be processed within the next 24-hours on a business day. The customer service team will send your order to our construction department.

Depending on weather, how many applicants we have ahead of you, and your location, installation time varies. If you have questions about your time frame, please ask our customer service team.

Step 2 - Utility Lines are Marked

Once our construction team, or our hired-out contractors, are ready to come your way, they will call in a JULIE (8-1-1), to mark your utility lines. You do not need to be home for this. However, if you have any utility lines that a JULIE may not locate, please make us aware as soon as possible.

Step 3 - Fiber-Optic is Plowed

Shortly after we have marked your utility lines, we will then plow the fiber-optic up to your house. We will install an ONT on the side of your home. You do not need to be home for this.

Step 4 - Your Lawn is Repaired

Don’t worry about a messy yard from the plow job. Our team will come back and put your lawn back the way it once was. However, the ground does have to be dry for us to do this properly, so weather can potentially delay this process.

Step 5 - Fiber-Optic is Spliced

Following the plow job and ONT installation, a splicer will come out to splice the fiber-optic. You do not need to be home for this.

Step 6 - Your Inside Appointment is Scheduled

Once the splicer leaves, your order will be sent back to our customer service team within 48-hours on a business day. A member of our team will reach out to you to schedule your inside installation technician. Typically, we can schedule you within three business days of this phone call.

Step 7 - Technician will Install your Equipment

Last, your technician will come to your home precisely when you are scheduled. You, or someone 18 or older, does have to be home for this. Depending on what kind of service you have signed up for, the Combo Technician will install what you need, such as a data jack, phone jack and a battery back-up. The technician will happily assist you with connecting your devices to WIFI. He will test your WIFI range and speed to ensure you are working properly, leaving you satisfied with your new service!

Now you are officially a Shawnee Communications customer!

We hope you enjoy your fiber-optic speed service!
